Mini Me
By Kiwi
K.
In my hand I am holding a
picture
I am young, about eight
months old
It is now many years and
countries later
My journey in this picture
was in New Zealand
In this picture
I’m clean and happy
Wrapped in a white fluffy
towel
My hair is wet, black, and
a bit crazy
My eyes are brown like a
grizzle bear cub
Friendly and playful
Big and wide
To go with bronze and
fluffy eyebrows
Luscious long lashes that
flap like butterfly wings
My dad always says, “You
could sweep the floor with those things.”
Every time I blink there
is a tornado in Kansas
Clear, soft, pale baby
skin
With a chubby button nose
Pink kissable lips
With cute seal cub cheeks
My mum always said, “She has a face of an
angel.”
Now I am changing and it
has been many years
I'm now in North Carolina
With many years still to
come
My Big Brother
By Kiwi
K.
My brother is very
important to me
He is my big cuddle bear
Know me very well
My likes and dislikes
Help me through
adolescence
Even though he is going
though the same thing
He reminds me of an
African elephant and black Rhino combined
A bit chubby and loud, yet
strong and proud
His eyes change as days go
by
Blue, gray, green then
hazel
His lips are small, but
his mouth is huge
He is very smelly
In a bad way
I still like to hug him
all day
If he is mad he can blow
like a volcano
He can be dangerous
And cold as ice
I used to think I only
liked him like a pet fish
I now changed my mind
As I realized all he has
done for me
He scratches my back I
scratch his
That is the way we roll
He makes me laugh just
like my dad
Not very hard working
But if it is something he
loves
Like photography
He will work and never
give up
For that perfect shot
His pale skin
Is hidden by black
He is still my big brother
And always will be.
Fishy
By Kiwi
K.
I love
fish
Fish are
cool
Fish are
fun
Fish do
not like the sun
They sparkle
in the glistening water
They have
pretty scales
A rainbow
of colors
Yet they are
really slimy and yucky
There are
many different types
Different
colors, shapes, and sizes
They do
what they want
They have
no rules or boundaries to follow
Fish make
me calm, relaxed and happy
If I’m
having a bad day I just go see some fish
They will
take all my worries away
I could
stare at them for hours
It is
like reading a book
You drift
into your own world
You never
want to leave
But then you
go back and enter reality
You can
tell that fish always like to see you
Even though
they forget who you are within three seconds
Bubbles blow
from the fishes’ mouth
They glide
up and pop at the surface
Fish are
friends
Fish are
fun
Fish want
to be your buddies
Fish are
like birds
Gliding though
the air
Without a
care
When I Dream
I Am a Cloud
By Kiwi K.
It’s night, I dream and I am a cloud
Formed from vapor
Happy floating flying free
Morphing into animal shapes
As people watch, guess, and laugh
My mood changes to sadness
As I travel through the night
I start to bloat with water
I begin to drizzle down
Telling the people to move
I’ve merged with my buddies
Winds turn me wild and crazy
We head off in a new direction
I grow with energy surging, charging, building
SNAP! I blow lighting and rumbles
BOOM! BANG! Floods and wind!
Finally it is over
A new day is here
I begin to wake
I am now drained
I rise to a new level
Say bye to my friends
Change is in the air
As I soon begin to disappear
Now I wake up in the mornin’ light
Back in human form
